Private Career College Students Left Out of TTC Pass

Toronto's private career college students have been left out of the new TTC post-secondary metropass. In a letter to the OACC dated January 14, 2010, TTC chair Adam Giambrone said "I look forward to a conversation between yourself and TTC staff regarding the discount."

Currently, students attending registered private career colleges in the city of Toronto are not eligible for the new TTC post-secondary metropass. This week, news of career college students' ineligibility came to light in the Toronto media and students are making their voices heard.

The OACC is asking students and career college administrators to contact their Toronto city councillor and communicate that the policy is unfair.

The OACC is working to resolve this matter through the proper channels.
For more information, please contact Laura Bailey, Media Communications Coordinator, at the OACC office.
