Performance Indicators for PCCs

On July 7, the Superintendent of PCCs, Richard Jackson, wrote to OACC informing us that the consulting firm that they have engaged to study the performance indicator initiative will be contacting OACC within the next few weeks to consult on the best way to implement performance indicators that are meaningful in the PCC sector.

Prior to the proclamation of the new PCC Act, 2005 in September of 2006, it had only been PCCs designated for OSAP that had to collect and publish performance indicators. Under the new legislation, all PCCs will be required to gather and publish indicators that result from the consultation process. In preparing for these consultations, OACC's KPI (Key Performance Indicators) Committee met in September of 2007 and march of 2008 to formulate a starting position on the nature of indicators, the methodology, and the appropriate publication. Ideally, this process must be easy to administer, the results must be meaningful, and there needs to be adequate flexibility to address the broad range of programs being offered at PCCs in Ontario.
